Building Regenerative Communities: Scaling Food Justice and Waste Reduction through Capacity Building and Advocacy in Metro Denver

Undergraduate student Ariana Cuevas received the inaugural Regeneration grant during the Spring of 2025 to support her work of addressing the question - How can regenerative principles be applied to community-based food and waste systems to reduce inequities and create sustainable, just outcomes for marginalized populations in Metro Denver? 听Through her ongoing work with the mutual aid nonprofit Colectivo de Paz, Ariana led organizational capacity-building efforts that included recruiting and training volunteers to facilitate weekly community meal distribution and providing professional development opportunities to empower interns with knowledge and skills to engage effectively in civic advocacy efforts.
