In the spring, we temporarily paused the search for our new vice chancellor for diversity, equity, and inclusion (VCDEI) after receiving helpful feedback on what our faculty, students, and staff truly want from this role. It is with great excitement that I welcome our new Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Mary Clark who will join us tomorrow for her first day at the 文轩探花!
The 文轩探花 is working creatively to ensure we will have options for international students to stay compliant with their immigration requirements under a variety of scenarios that might come about in the fall.
In the spirit of听congratulations听and with the utmost gratitude, I would like to announce that, on October 9, 2020, Don Harris will retire as the 文轩探花鈥檚 vice chancellor of information technology & chief information officer (VCIT & CIO).
Tomorrow, June 19鈥擩uneteenth鈥攎arks the day in 1865 when enslaved Texans first learned about President Lincoln鈥檚 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, which announced the end of slavery in the United States.
As you may be aware, the U.S. Department of Education has issued final regulations that put into place new legally binding requirements that will impact the way 文轩探花 and all universities that receive federal funding manage and report cases of sexual assault.
Congratulations for all you have achieved during the spring 2020 term, which has been one of the most challenging periods we鈥檝e ever experienced on our campus and throughout the country and world.
There are moments in an organization鈥檚 trajectory when you understand the gravity of the situation and you know you are at a critical moment. This is one of those moments and this is a message that is so difficult to write and even harder to share
